We are glad to announce the ‘Planet’s Pick of the Week’ (July 19, 2009 to July 26, 2009).

The ‘Blogger of the Week’ is Harold Jarche, who owns the Web site, http://www.jarche.com/

The ‘Blog Post of the Week’ is ‘The e-learning skills gap‘ by Clive Shepherd, who owns the blog, http://clive-shepherd.blogspot.com/

Why Jarche is ‘Blogger of the Week’?

We select the ‘Blogger of the Week’ based on the following parameters:

  • The number of informative, innovative, and self blog posts in a week
  • The number of positive comments from visitors

During the previous week, Jarche posted 8 blog posts that attracted 9 comments. In most of his posts, Jarche shared his observations from the session, ‘Future of Learning as a Business’, which was organized by LearnTrends on July 23, 2009.  In addition, Jarche posted useful information on Personal Knowledge Management (PKM).

Why Clive’s post is ‘Blog Post of the Week’?

We select the ‘Blog Post of the Week’ when a post meets one or more of the following parameters:

  • Includes useful information on developing an e-learning course with trenchant instructional design strategies
  • Provides information on the latest technology, news, and events in the e-learning industry
  • Includes information that is useful and neutral to all e-learning professionals

In his Slideshare presentation, ‘The e-learning skills gap‘, Clive listed the skill gaps to implement e-learning successfully as part of the learning and development strategy. In addition, Clive summarized the need to close these gaps and suggested a tool that will allow organizations and individuals to assess their e-learning skills gap.

Congratulations, Jarche and Clive!
